Summer is here and at Vida Emanuel’s Beverly Hills Day Spa we have 6 tips to keep you up-to-date with the latest makeup trends.

While other seasons allow for matte, oil-taming face makeup, the heat of summer calls for glowing, dewy skin. Skip the heavy foundation and, instead, aim for tinted moisturizers and BB creams that will not be ruined by summer swimming and sweating.

Hold off on the black mascara, and try switching to a brown for summer. The brown will be dark enough to emphasize your fluttering lashes, but has more color which creates a glow under bright sunlight. While black mascara can look harsh under bright daylight, brown look look more natural and complement the colors in your face.

Instead of using a matte powder for blush, why not use a cream based blush that doubles as both a blush and lipstick. Not only is this faster, but it the matching colors will keep your face looking naturally gorgeous. The tones for this summer include bright pink, coral, and bronze.

Adding some light shimmer to your cheeks and eyes can subtly draw attention to key parts of face and make your newly bronzed summer skin look radiate.

Adding a pop of color in your lipstick, eyeshadow, or nails can liven up your summer makeup without being overwhelming or gaudy. Colors such as bright red, coral, turquoise, and orange accentuate a tan.

Lastly, using a lightly tinted pink lip moisturizer, not only gives your lips a boost of much needed moisture in the summer heat, but adds just a hint of color to pretty up your pout without the heaviness of lipstick.
